Vintage Chicago Pneumatic No. 730RS 1/2" Drive Impact “Auto Wrench”, Used: This is the oldest Chicago Pneumatic ½´ drive impact wrench we have ever seen. It is in great working order. It hits hard, it has a forward/reverse switch on its backside and it doesn’t leak any air. There is a small exhaust tube in front of the trigger that can be rotated to direct the air exhaust. It is slim lined and somewhat compact and it weighs just over 4 lbs. The anvil is in good condition. It is missing the metal socket holding ring. We did not replace the ring as we did nothing to restore this impact other than wiping it with a rag. We leave such restoration up to the eventual owner. The socket holding rings are readily available. This is a “pretty” vintage impact. Besides the CP in a circle logo on both sides of its body, the end cap has a round circle with the following in raised characters; “AUTO-WRENCH  NEW YORK  CP  NO.730RS PAT’D   CHICAGO PNEUMATIC TOOL COMPANY”.  Just above the trigger someone stamped “AP 1 1963”. Normally stamping and engraving distract from the value and original quality of a tool. However, in this case we like the stamped date as it gives us a glimpse of its history.
